Rebeca is a Dallas native multidisciplinary artist, currently based in Utah. She received her BFA in 2023 where capstone work examined the abstraction of the soul and emotion through the lens of magical realism and musical collaboration. She is currently an MFA candidate. Her work has evolved into a collection of thoughts that reflect the nuances of human interconnection, exploring the complex layers of perspective, perception, and interpretation. She navigates these intricate terrains, creating visual dialogues that weave historical and cultural strands through drawing, painting, and projected imagery. This past spring she exhibited “A Small Presence” an ongoing project at Mi-Whi Cube Gallery. Group exhibitions include Breaking Bread in collaboration with the Georgia Southern University, and Time, Place, and Proximity, at Eastern State University. When not in the studio you can find her immersed in a good book or playing the cello, further nurturing the connection between, sound, image and the stories we tell. Through her work she strives to weave a narrative of resilience, remembrance and community that honors the past while illuminating the paths forward.
