WEAVING ANTIGUA

Antigua Guatemala

From the streets of

to your loom

February 24th - March 2nd, 2026

A Retreat Rooted in Place

Weaving Antigua is a studio-intensive retreat where the streets of Antigua become your classroom.

With Mafer (from GRACIA) and Saci (from Fueguita) as your guides, you’ll walk the city, capture its colors, and transform them into woven artwork through natural dyeing and macraweave.

This is more than a workshop, it’s a way of letting place guide your artistic process.

Reserve your spot for $500 USD

What You’ll Experience

⊹ Natural Dyeing with Mafer (from GRACIA) - Create a palette of cotton threads using natural plant-based dyes.

⊹ Macraweave with Saci (from Fueguita) - Learn how to turn a photo of an Antigua wall into a woven design.

They achieve this through residencies, creative education, and public programs, with a focus on cross-cultural exchange, artistic practice, and personal exploration.

In the past five years she has hosted artists in residence from across the world and has facilitated community-based art workshops in various cultural institutions and independent spaces in Guatemala and Spain.

  • Alongside a team of talented Guatemalan women, we're bringing this dream to life. Fueguita, meaning "little fire," symbolises the strength and spark within every woman, the fire used to create vibrant colours in our textiles. and the passion driving our creations.

This project was born from a love for textiles, a curiosity to explore different techniques, and a commitment to create something unique with a sustainable vision.
