Eleni Berg is a ceramic multidisciplinary artist and lifelong Bay Area resident, and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from California College of the Arts with a focus on ceramics. Her work reflects her own background as a Guatemalan-American artist, and she seeks to identify the root causes and systems that have contributed to a severed relationship with the natural world, and the continued erasure of indigeneity. Her interest in vintage items, textiles, identifying wild mushrooms and plants, and relationships to objects and inhabited spaces and their often westernized origins inform her aesthetic and conceptual choices in her practice. Having worked with ceramic for over a decade, Eleni seeks to use clay as a medium to create engaging and activated compositions that draw the eye with small details and visually endearing figures.
