Elham Fatapour is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist originally from Tehran, Iran. She holds an MFA in Visual Art from York University. Her work explores themes of satellite usage, surveillance, censorship, vernacular architecture, and visual autobiography. She works across various mediums, including painting, installation, and video art.
Her ongoing series, "Homemade Satellite Dishes," which examines the intersection of communication and censorship through the metaphor of satellite dishes, won the Surveillance Studies Network (SSN) Biennial Arts Prize in 2022.
